Admitted Students
Congratulations -- you’ve been accepted to Hamline! Here’s where you’ll find everything you need to know about being a Piper, from upcoming events to registering for classes to residential life. For more information about the admitted student process, contact your admission counselor. We are happy to help answer all your questions and eager to welcome you to Hamline!
The Essentials
Piper Preview is one of two mandatory orientation programs. Here students will learn what it takes to be academically successful, register for fall classes, get your questions answered by various university offices and departments, meet New Student mentor and meet fellow members of the Class of 2016. There are five Piper Preview sessions from which to choose. Visit the Piper Preview webpage for more information and to sign up for one of the Piper Preview sessions.
Piper Passages is our second required orientation program. Spring Piper Passages will take place on campus Sunday, September 2 - Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Come meet your New Student Mentors, develop new friendships, learn your way around campus, and get your questions answered.
Piperline allows you to register for classes, view your student records, and more. Your ID number and PIN are listed in your acceptance package. Contact the Hamline University ITS Help Desk, 651-523-2220 or itshelp@hamline.edu, if you have misplaced your login information.
Health Insurance: All Undergraduate students registered for at least 8 credits are required to have health and accident insurance. These students are automatically enrolled in and charged for Hamline's health insurance coverage.
If students have their own policy, they must go online through Piperline to waive their insurance coverage. Students should allow 48 hours for processing and then check their student account on Piperline to verify that the waiver credit appears. If there are questions or concerns, please visit the Student Account Webpage for health insurance.
If students do not go online to waive this fee by the specified semester deadline, they will be enrolled in Hamline's health insurance plan and will be responsible for the cost of that coverage.
Immunizations: Incoming students must submit immunization records through Piperline. Please note that required immunizations include: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), tetanus and diphtheria. A tetanus and diphtheria vaccination must be current within the last ten years. If immunization requirements are not met a registration hold will be placed on the student's account
Housing information is sent to all admitted students. Once you submit your housing deposit, you will receive instructions on using the online housing application and roommate finder.
Technology for learning at Hamline includes Piperline, Blackboard, your Hamline email account, and more. Find information specifically for new students about essential applications and technology resources on campus.
Please read the 2012 Orientation Information & Registration Guide for further details about both the orientation programs and registering for fall classes.
