Pipers fall to St. Olaf in MIAC play

Despite three close matches at second and fifth singles as well as first doubles, St. Olaf managed to sweep Hamline in women's tennis, 9-0 on Wednesday.

Liz Gunderson (Jr., New Prague, Minn.) dropped the first set of her match 0-6 before storming back to flip the tables and take the second set, 6-0. She then dropped the third set tiebreaker, 6-10.

At fifth singles, Kristen Sczublewski (Fy., Pierz, Minn.) fell 6-2, 7-5, while Gunderson teamed with Kelly Gust (Jr., East Grand Forks, Minn.) to lose a close 6-8 match at first doubles.

The Pipers fall to 4-8, 0-3 MIAC on the season. They will take on St. Catherine at the Baseline Tennis Center at the University of Minnesota on Friday, April 11.
