Pipers hold on to beat Coe 2-1

Hamline moved to 4-2 on the year after beating Coe College 2-1 in non-conference play Sunday afternoon at Pat Paterson Fields.

It did not take long for Anna McMahon to get the Pipers off on the right foot, striking only 26 seconds into the first half to give Hamline a 1-0 lead.  Greta Heaps would add a goal at the 21:30 mark, assisted by Kendra Watson, that would ultimately be the game-winner.

Hamline would hold the 2-0 lead only 28 seconds into the second half when Coe got an early strike of their own, sliding one past the Piper defense moving the game to 2-1.  Hamline would hold strong though, maintaining their lead through the remainder of the half.  They move to 5-2 overall and are 1-1 in MIAC play.

Hamline will take on Concordia in a conference matchup Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Pat Paterson Fields.
