Women's soccer falls to Carleton

The Hamline women's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Carleton Friday afternoon at Pat Paterson Fields.

After a scoreless first half, the Knights (2-7-1, 2-5 in MIAC) scored the lone goal of the game. Knight Nicky Bloom headed a crossing pass from Johanna Dijkstal past Hamline goalkeeper Andrea Eilertson to make the score 1-0.

The Pipers (5-5, 1-4) had an attempt to tie the game minutes later, but Anna McMahon's cut was saved by a diving Yusi He.

Eilertson finished with five saves for the Pipers. He had three saves in the Knight shutout.

Carleton held a 15-4 edge in shots, but only a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal.

The Pipers will next play at Bethel on Tuesday. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
