Women's hockey places seven on All-MIAC teams![]()
![]() ![]() The Pipers, who went 15-9-3 and earned a berth in the MIAC Playoffs for the first time in school history, put four players on the All-MIAC first team with three players gaining honorable mention accolades. Juniors Sara Mickelson and Marie Gross and first-years Sophie Davidson and Melanie Leveille were all named first team. Mickelson, from West St. Paul, Minn., set a Hamline school record with 20 goals on the season. In conference play, the forward scored 12 times with five assists for 17 points. Mickelson scored five power-play goals and four game-winners. It was the first time set was named All-MIAC. Gross, from West St. Paul, Minn., earned All-MIAC first team honors for the second time of her career. The defenseman scored two goals and nine assists for 11 points in MIAC action. Davidson, from St. Paul, Minn., led Hamline in scoring during conference play with six goals and 12 assists for 18 points. Davidson also was named to the MIAC All-Rookie team along with Leveille. Leveille, from Appleton, Wis., added eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in conference. She added the Pipers' only hat trick in conference play on the season against Gustavus. Junior Emily Dusold, sophomore Crystal Testolin, and first-year Amanda Finstad earned honorable mention. Dusold, from Shoreview, Minn., scored four goals and eight assists in conference. Testolin, from Richardson, Texas, stepped in as starting goaltender and went 7-4-1 with a 2.57 goals against average. Finstad, from Waupun, Wis. scored one goal and eight assists as a defenseman. Junior defenseman Emily Toenes was named to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship team. |
