St. Olaf comes back to beat women's hockey

The Pipers jumped out to a 2-1 lead, but St. Olaf scored five unanswered goals to beat Hamline 6-2 Sunday afternoon in Northfield, Minn.

After a scoreless first period, Hamline (10-6-2, 6-5-1 in the MIAC) scored twice in the first three minutes of the second period. Sophomore Brianna Miller, who scored the game-winner in Saturday night’s 4-1 victory, scored at 1:30 of the period to make the score 1-1.

Sophomore Kate Raasch added a goal at 2:44 of the second period to extend the lead to 2-1.

But from there the Oles (10-8-1, 7-4-1) took command. St. Olaf tied the score before the second intermission on a goals by Susannah Brokl. Brokl finished the game with a hat trick while Lindsey Boeser netted two goals in the contest. In the third period, St. Olaf scored four goals on nine shots.

Hamline goaltender Crystal Testolin made 19 saves in the contest. Sarah Mills stopped 18 shots for the Oles.

The Pipers will host Bethel Friday night at Drake Arena. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m.
