Wilson's four goals lifts Foresters past women's hockey
![]() ![]() Lake Forest (1-0-1) finished the day 3-of-5 with an extra skater in the contest. All three goal were netted by Wilson, who also added a short-handed goal. Hamline was 1-of-10 on the power play. The Pipers (0-1-1) took an early lead when first-year Amanda Finstad fired a wrister from the slot at 5:20 of the first period. It was Finstad's first career goal. She was assisted by Kate Raasch. The Foresters tied the score heading into the first intermission on Wilson's first power-play goal of the game. Sam Pinsonneault scored ar 1:39 of the second period to make the score 2-1 Foresters. Raasch would net a power-play goal at 3:34 to tie the game at 2-2, but Wilson would score a short-handed goal to give Lake Forest the lead and a power-play goal to make the score 4-2 at the end of the second period. Sophomore Brianna Miller cut the deficit to 4-3 with her first goal of the season in the opening minute of the third period. However, Wilson added her fourth goal of the game at 15:16 to seal the win. Hamline outshot the Foresters 31-27 in the contest, including 11-6 in the third period. Hamline goaltender Andria Pinkerton made 22 saves on the loss. Forester Ryann McCarthy stopped 28 shots to earn the win. Hamline will host St. Benedict to open conference play on Nov. 17. The puck will drop at 7:15 p.m. |
