Women's hockey runs winning streak to seven gamesMiller netted her 10th and 11th goals of the season to give the Pipers (8-4-2, 4-3-1 in the MIAC) a 2-0 lead with less than three minutes elapsed in the first period. With the victory, the Pipers earned their first sweep of a conference opponent in school history. To do it, Hamline held the Wildcats (0-13-1, 0-7-1) to just 17 shots on goal in the contest - 10 in the final two periods. First-year Sophie Davidson assisted on both of Miller's goals as well as scored an empty-net goal at 19:37 for the game's final tally. Junior Sara Mickelson extended her point scoring streak to seven games with a power-play goal at 13:55 of the first period. She has scored at least one goal and has 15 points (10 goals, five assists) in her last five games. After taking a 3-0 lead, the Wildcats tallied an Angie Johnson powr-play goal to make the score 3-1 at the end of the first period. Hamline's Cortney Hansen would add the lone tally of the second period to give Hamline a three-goal advantage. Hamline netminder Crystal Testolin stopped 15 shots for the victory. Jessi McGehee made 21 saves in a losing effort. The Pipers will host St. Mary's Friday night at Drake Arena. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m.
