Records fall as women's hockey wins again
![]() The Pipers (5-4-2) increased their school record win streak to four games with the victory. The five wins in the season sets a new school high. Leveille tied a school mark by scoring four goals. She added two assists for six points in the contest. Hamline's 16 goals in the game doubled the previous school record for goals in a game. The Pipers scored eight times in their last game against Finlandia on Dec. 17. Their eight third period goals also sets a team mark. Junior Sara Mickelson netted a hat trick and added two assists for five points. Hamline outshot the Cougars (0-10) 63-22 in the contest, but needed eight straight third period goals to put the game away. The Pipers jumped out to an 8-3 lead on Leveille's third goal of the game, but the Cougars scored four straight goals in a span of 13:36 to cut the lead to 8-7. Sophomore Kate Raasch started the final flurry with two short-handed goals 29 seconds apart. The Pipers were 5-of-9 on the power play in the contest. The Cougars were 1-of-8 with an extra skater. Chatham was Lauren Fishman, who scored three goals and an assist in the game. Hamline netminder Crystal Testolin stopped 10 shots to earn the win. Three Cougars combined to make 47 saves in the game. Brenn Hunt took the loss for Chatham. The Pipers will conclude the series Sunday afternoon at Chatham. |
