First-year goaltender Andria Pinkerton stopped all 19 Concordia shots for Hamline's first shutout in team history as the Pipers defeated the Cobbers 1-0 Sunday afternoon at Drake Arena.

Pinkerton earned her first career collegiate victory to give the Pipers (2-4-2, 2-3-1 in the MIAC) a series split with the Cobbers (3-3-2, 2-3-1). The Pipers had allowed one goal in eight contests, dating back to the team's inception in 2000-01, but had never shutout an opponent.

Hamline netted the game-winner when first-year Sophie Davidson found junior Sara Mickelson on a 2-on-1 break. Mickelson beat Cobber netminder Maddie Haroldson for the game's only goal at 14:54 of the third period. It was Mickelson's fourth goal of the season.

The Pipers dominated play in the final two periods, outshooting Concordia 21-11. For the game, Hamline held a 28-19 advantage in shots on goal. Haroldson made 27 saves for the Cobbers.

The Pipers went 0-for-6 on the power play while Concordia went 0-for-3 with an extra skater.

The Pipers will remain at home for a two-game series against Finlandia. The series kicks off on Saturday night at Drake Arena. Game time is 7:15 p.m.
