The Pipers completed the sweep of Bethel, scoring three times in the third period to beat the Royals 3-1 Saturday afternoon in Blaine, Minn.

Trailing 1-0 after two periods, the Pipers (12-6-2, 8-5-1 in the MIAC) knotted the score on junior Sara Mickelson's 17th goal of the season at 1:15 of the period.

Mickelson would later add her 18th goal of the season, becoming the Pipers' single season goal scoring leader. She surpassed the mark of 17 goals set by Angie Erickson in the team's inaugural season of 2000-01.

After Mickelson's goal knotted the score, the Pipers took their first lead of the game at 6:21 on Kate Raasch's ninth goal of the season. Mickelson added the game's final tally at 16:34.

Bethel (6-11-2, 5-7-2) took the early lead when Amy Beitzel scored at 11:58 of the first period. The score remained unchanged until the third period despite the Pipers holding a 24-2 advantage in shots on goal in the second period.

Hamline outshot the Royals 44-23 in the contest, including a 34-11 advantage over the final two periods.

Hamline goaltender Andria Pinkerton made 22 saves in the win. Beth Spurrier made 41 saves in the loss.

The win gives the Pipers a record of 11-2 in their last 13 games and moves them into third place in the MIAC with four games left to play.

Hamline will play at St. Thomas on Friday night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
