Women's hockey ties Augsburg, 3-3![]()
![]() Hamline (14-8-3, 10-6-2 in the MIAC), who clinched the fourth seed in the conference playoffs on Friday night, dominated the first two periods of play while taking a 3-0 lead. The Pipers outshot Augsburg (8-12-5, 5-9-4) 25-10 in the first two periods and went 3-of-7 on the power play. But Augsburg fought back in the third period, scoring three goals on 10 shots. Sophomore Tiffany Magnuson scored the final two to knot the game at 3-3. Hamline scored on their first power-play opportunity of the game to make the score 1-0 after the first period. Sophomore Kate Raasch netted her 10th goal of the season off a rebound with 9:25 elapsed in the period. The Pipers added two more power-play goals in the second period. First-year Sophie Davidson's slapshot from the point made it 2-0 at 6:59 of the period. Junior Emily Dusold also scored a power-play goal at 18:01. Davidson added an assist on the play. Hamline netminder Andria Pinkerton made 17 saves in the game. Toni Menth stopped 32 shots for the Auggies. The Pipers will make their first appearance in the MIAC Playoffs on Tuesday. The fourth-seeded Pipers will host the fifth-seeded Cardinals at Drake Arena. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. |
