Trio of Pipers score in defeat of AugsburgGood things come in threes, as three different Pipers scored goals, with two of them scoring their third goal of the season, as the Hamline University women’s hockey team skated to a 3-0 shut-out against the visiting Augsburg College Auggies on Friday night.
Emily Dusold (Sr., Shoreview, Minn.) doubled the Piper lead with her third goal of the season on a Piper power play at 4:39 in the opening period. Amanda Finstad (So., Waupun, Wis.) earned the assist on the score. The third and final Piper goal came less than three minutes into the third period, as Melanie Leveille (So., Appleton, Wis.), tallied her 10th goal of the year at 2:32. Dusold and Kate Raasch (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) had the assists. Crystal Testolin (Jr., Richardson, Texas) earned the shut-out in goal, making 21 saves in the game. The shut-out was the second of the season for the Pipers and the first of the year for Testolin. Hamline improved to 11-9-2, 6-7-2 MIAC with the win, while the Auggies fell to 3-16-1, 3-11-1 MIAC.
