Pipers fall to Tommies

The University of St. Thomas women's hockey team scored three goals in the second period after a scoreless first, and then added another in the final period, to defeat Hamline University, 4-0, on the Pipers' ice.

Four different players scored the Tommie goals, the first coming Jenny Novakovichfrom Jackie Carroll (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) at 7:37 in the second in a 5-on-5 situation. Kristine Beese (So., Coon Rapids, Minn.) scored the second Tommie goal in the same period at 8:05 on a power play, and Becca Reardon (Fy., Minneapolis, Minn.) finished out St. Thomas' second period scoring at 11:13.
 
St. Thomas' final goal was scored at 3:09 in the third period by Kara Ledel (So., Shakopee, Minn.).
 
The Tommies improved to 16-4-0, 10-3-0 MIAC, while the Pipers dropped to 9-9-2, 4-7-2 MIAC. The same two teams meet again tomorrow, Saturday, February 8, at 7:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Arena.
