Piper women fall in MIAC semifinal

Piper Hockey
For the second year in a row, Gustavus was just too powerful for the Hamline University women's hockey team, as they skated to a 5-0 victory over the visiting Pipers in the MIAC semifinal game.

Gustavus scored three goals in the opening period, and then one in each of the remaining two periods, to head into the MIAC championship game on Wednesday night.

The Pipers, who defeated Bethel University in an exciting first round game to earn the game against Gustavus, had earned their second consecutive and second-ever trip to the MIAC playoffs.

They finish the season with a record of 14-10-3, 8-7-3 MIAC.
