Pipers, Auggies skate to 2-2 tie

Hamline University women's hockey team tied Augsburg College on the road, 2-2, in overtime. The three points gathered by the Pipers this weekend put them in fourth place in the MIAC with two games to play.

The game was a back-and-forth goal battle, with three of the game's four goals coming in the opening period.

Hamline's Emily Dusold (Sr., Shoreview, Minn.) scored first at 3:13, with Kate Raasch (Jr., St. Paul, Minn.) and Sophie Davidson (So., St. Paul, Minn.) being credited with the assists.

The Auggies tied the game at 11:08 in the first period, but the Pipers scored again at 18:10, as Raasch added a goal, with Dusold and Emily Toenes (Eagle River, Alaska) scoring the assists.

Augsburg scored the tying goal at 14:41 in the third, and game stayed knotted at 2 through the overtime period.

Hamline out-shot Augsburg 36-15 in the game.

The Pipers take on the College of St. Benedict next weekend, traveling on Friday night, February 22, for a 7:30 p.m. start, and then hosting the Blazers at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, February 23.
