Women's hockey drops MIAC opener
Mari Gunderson's (Jr., Shoreview, Minn.) first of three goals came at 16:08 in the first period, a little more than two minutes before Hamline scored their lone goal of the game. Piper Kate Raasch (Jr., Saint Paul, Minn.) scored her second goal of the season, with Alli Miller (Fy., Fairbault, Minn.) and Melanie Leveille (So., Appleton, Wis.) receiving credit for assists. The Pipers saw four Gustie goals go into their net in the second period, one each from Lynn Hillen (So, Minnetonka, Minn.), Laura Vannelli (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.), Molly Doyle (Sr., Richfield, Minn.), and Gunderson. Gunderson’s hat trick was completed just over a minute into the final period. Doyle added her second goal of the game three minutes later, and the final Gustavus goal was scored halfway through the third period by Allie Harwood (Fy., Rochester, Minn.). The same two teams face-off again tomorrow, Saturday, November 17, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Peter.
