Piper women's hockey ties Concordia

Lucy Crosby Kesia Madryga
Lucy Crosby (Fy., Toronto, Ontario) scored her first collegiate goal in helping Hamline earn a 1-1 tie against Concordia on the road.

Two first-year players provided all of the scoring Hamline would receive in a 1-1 overtime MIAC tie on the road in Moorhead on Friday. Crosby scored at 6:33 in the first period on an assist from Kesia Madryga (Burnsville, Minn.) to give Hamline a 1-0 lead they would hold until early in the third period.

At that time Concordia scored their only goal of the game, evening the score at 1-1.

An extra five minutes of play didn't result in a decision, bringing Hamline's record to 5-3-1, 0-2-1 MIAC, while Concordia's record became 2-5-1, 2-0-1 MIAC.

Junior goalie Crystal Testolin (Richardson, Texas) earned the tie in goal for Hamline.

The Cobbers and the Pipers will play again on Saturday in Moorhead at 2:00 p.m. to conclude the MIAC series.
