Three different players scored goals and three additional players had assists in a 3-2 win over Concordia University-Wisconsin on the road Saturday.

The Falcons were playing their first-ever women's hockey team as they hosted the Pipers in the season-opener for Hamline. After a scoreless first period of play, the Pipers scored the first goal when Alli Miller (Fy., Fairbault, Minn.) scored her first collegiate goal off of an assist from sophomore Amanda Finstad (Waupun, Wis.) three minutes into the game.

Concordia struck back, scoring with less than two minutes remaining in the second period to tie the game 1-1. Hamline took another one-goal lead at 17:31 in the third period when junior Brianna Miller (Woodbury, Minn.) scored her first goal of the season on a pass from senior Marie Gross (West St. Paul, Minn.).

The Falcons scored a game-tying goal one more time with just under three minutes remaining in the game, but Hamline prevented overtime when another first-year player, Heather Ahlers (Stillwater, Minn.), made her first collegiate goal a game-winner on an assist from sophomore Melanie Leveille (Appleton, Wis.).

Junior Crystal Testolin (Richardson, Texas) earned the win in net for the Pipers, stopping 34 shots in the game.

Hamline remains in Wisconsin to take on Concordia University one more time on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
