UW-Superior completes sweep of women's hockey

UW-Superior completed a two-game series sweep of the Hamline women's hockey team with a 7-0 win Saturday afternoon in Superior, Wis.

The Yellowjackets (16-2-2) jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first period and added two goals in both the second and third periods.

Vi Theofylatos and Alicia Cowleson each scored a pair of goals for Superior, who was ranked seventh in the latest USCHO.com poll.

Hamline starting goaltender Crystal Testolin made 15 saves in the contest while backup Alexandra Strunk made 26. Yellowjacket netminder Rikki Nespor made 17 saves in the shutout.

Hamline will return to conference action when they host St. Olaf on Friday. Game time is set for 7:15 p.m. at Drake Arena.
