Pipers can't hold on against Finlandia

Finlandia scored three goals in the last 13:49 of the game to defeat the Hamline women's hockey team 3-2 Saturday night in the Cobber Thanksgiving Tournament in Moorhead, Minn.

The Pipers (1-3-2) led 2-0 after Courtney Hansen scored her first career goal on the power play at the 1:30 mark of the third period.  She was assisted by Brianna Miller and Emily Dusold.

But the Lions (6-3-1) netted three straight goals to win the game. Tina Puuri scored at 6:11 to cut the lead in half.  Sara Sleik would tie the game on the power play at 11:44. The Lions would take the lead on a Veera Salomaa goal at 13:12.

Hamline took a lead after going into the first intermission on Kate Raasch's fourth goal of the season at 19:10.

Hamline goaltender Crystal Testolin made 32 saves for the Pipers. The Lions held a 35-31 edge in shots on goal.
