Women's hockey drops 5-3 decision to St. Benedict![]()
![]() The Pipers (1-4-3, 0-2-1) came back from two one-goal deficits. After falling behind 1-0, Hamline knotted the game on a Cortney Hansen power-play goal with 7:09 elasped in the first period. The Blazers (2-2-1, 2-0-1) would take the lead heading into intermission only to see Hamline tie the game at 3:13 of the second period on Callista Olynyk's third goal of the season. St. Benedict would add goals 47 seconds apart to take a two-goal lead at the second intermission. Lisa Bush scored a power-play goal at 10:58. Andrea Selby would give the Blazers a 4-2 lead at 11:45. The Pipers cut the lead to 4-3 in Brianna Miller's third goal of the season at 18:21, but Bush would add her second goal of the game - an empty netter - to seal the win. Hamline goaltender Rachael young made nine saves in the game while Sarah Zweber stopped 18 shots for the Blazers. The two teams will meet again Saturday afternoon at Drake Arena. Game time is slated for 4:00 p.m. |
