Carleton upends women's basketball
Oken-Berg scored 14 points in the first half for the Knights (6-1, 3-1 in the MIAC), who went ended the first half on a 24-7 run to go into the half up 40-28. Oken-Berg tallied eight points during the run. In the early going, Hamline grabbed a 21-16 lead after an Ashley Vorwerk three-pointer with 8:08 to play in the half. Jessica Heinen led the way for Hamline (4-3, 3-2) with 11 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Sophomore Krystal Tschumperlin added 10 points for the Pipers. Senior Megan Haugen chipped in nine points and four steals. Hamline was held to 29.4 percent shooting for the game (20-68) and 25.8 percent in the first half (8-31). Hamline was 7-of-27 from three-point range in the contest. Oken-Berg paced four Knights in double figures. Sarah Lincoln tallied 15 points and 10 rebounds. Anna Biewen and Sarah Kunelius each scored 10 points. The Pipers will host Martin Luther in a non-conference matchup next Saturday at Hutton Arena. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. |
