Sophomore Grace Weireich totaled 18 points - 13 in the second half - but the Royals went 9-of-17 from three-point range to beat the Pipers 84-67 Monday night in Arden Hills, Minn.

Weinreich shot 5-of-12 from the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe to lead three Pipers in double figures, but Hamline (9-7, 7-6 in the MIAC) could not slow down the Royals' (7-9, 6-7) three-point shooting.

Sophomore Krystal Tschumperlin and junior Shelby Hyllengren each chipped in 10 points apiece for the Pipers.

Five different Royals connected from deep, led by Abby Thom, who converted 3-of-5 from three-point range and finished with 13 points. Kiersten Hansen and Heather Davis each hit a pair of threes in the game.

Post player Annegret Nautsch led Bethel with 18 points, on 7-of-13 from the field, and 13 rebounds. Davis added 12 points while Emily Uzpen and Hansen each tallied 10 points.

The Pipers trailed by one midway through the second half after a Tschumperlin three-pointer cut the Bethel lead to 52-51. The Royals responded with a 15-0 run over the next four minutes to take command. Hansen scored the first five points on the spurt.

The Pipers shot 43.3 percent in the contest (26-60). Bethel made 50.8 percent of their shots (30-59) - 54.8 percent in the first half.

The Pipers will play at St. Thomas on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7:45 p.m.
