Women's basketball rolls over Wellesley

In their final game at the Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla., the Hamline University women's basketball team rolled to a 69-34 victory over Wellesley College (Mass.) on Sunday.

The Pipers took the lead in the first minute of the game, and led by as many as 30 points before entering halftime with a 41-14 advantage.

Hamline was led by 14 points each from Tiana Wilkinson (So., Saint Louis Park, Minn.) and Jessica Heinen (Jr., Spicer, Minn.), while Mary Wilkowski (Fy., Savannah, Ga.) added 12.

Wilkinson, Nikki Klinck (Fy., Hibbing, Minn.) and Britta Schwartzhoff (Jr., Hayward, Wis.) led the Pipers with seven rebounds each. Wilkowski had six.

The two non-conference wins in Florida bring Hamline's record the 5-2, 2-2 MIAC. The Pipers will return to MIAC action as they host Augsburg College on Saturday, January 5 at 1:00 p.m.
