Strong second half carries Pipers to win
![]() ![]() Bridgewater (Mass.) led the Pipers by as many as 16 points in the first half, but couldn't hang on as Hamline took the lead with 13:40 remaining in the game on a three-pointer by Jackie Kelly (Fy., Blaine, Minn.). The 40-38 lead was the Pipers' first of the game. Trailing 67-63 with 31 seconds, Jessica Heinen's (Jr., Spicer, Minn.) lay-up brought the Pipers to within two points. Hamline took a time-out with less than half a minute to play, after which Heinen's defense resulted in a steal. She was fouled on a three-point field goal attempt after a steal and stepped to the free throw line where she drained all three shots to give Hamline a 68-67 lead with 18 seconds to play. Two free throws by Nikki Klinck (Fy., Hibbing, Minn.) and one by Britta Schwatzhoff (Jr., Hayward, Wis.) provided the remaining points for the Pipers in the 71-68 win. Heinen led the Pipers with 22 points, while Mary Wilkowski (Fy., Savannah, Ga.) finished with 12.
