Four Pipers in double-digits as they fall to Wildcats
The host Wildcats took the lead in the opening minutes of the game, and held on for a three-point halftime advantage at 36-33. St. Catherine didn't back down in the second half, maintaining the lead. Hamline's Schwartzhoff (Jr. Hayward, Wis.) brought the lead down to one point with a jumper at the nine-minute mark in the second half, but the Wildcats quickly responded, bringing their lead back up to 11 points in the next four minutes. Wilkowski (Fy., Savannah, Ga.) led the Pipers with 17 points and nine rebounds. Weinreich (Jr., Wahkon, Minn.) scored a season-high 14 points. Heinen (Jr. Spicer, Minn.) and Schwartzhoff each contributed 11 points. Heinen also had six rebounds, while Schwartzhoff had three steals. The Pipers are now at 7-4, 4-4 MIAC. They travel to Gustavus on Wednesday, January 16 for a 7:30 p.m. MIAC contest. |
