Cobbers defeat Pipers

The Hamline University women's basketball team fell 74-45 to Concordia College on the road on Wednesday night.

Despite acquiring a brief one-point lead at the 11-minute mark, the Pipers trailed the Cobbers by 12 points (32-20) at halftime. Concordia stayed in control when the two teams returned to the court from the lockerroom, never allowing another Hamline lead.

The game was punctuated by turnovers, with the Pipers giving up 31 points off of 28 turnovers, while scoring 14 points on 13 forced turnovers.

Britta Schwartzhoff (Jr., Hayward, Wis.) and Mary Wilkowski (Fy., Savannah, Ga.) each had a team-high 10 points. Grace Weinreich (Jr., Wahkon, Minn.) led Hamline with five rebounds.

The Pipers are now 10-9, 7-9 MIAC. They return home to play St. Catherine at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
