Piper women's basketball drops close game to Royals
![]() The Pipers held a three-point lead at 42-39 going into halftime, but couldn't hold on to it throughout the second half. With 11 seconds remaining in the game, and the Pipers trailing by three, a Bethel timeout on a Piper possession gave Hamline the chance to set-up for a game-tying shot, but couldn't get the ball in the basket as time ran out. The Pipers were led by first-year player Mary Wilkowski's (Savannah, Ga.) 26 points and 12 rebounds. Britta Schwartzhoff (Jr., Hayward, Wis.) had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. Rochelle Sather (So., Andover, Minn.) and Grace Weinreich (Jr., Wahkon, Minn.) each had 13 points. The Royas had two players score 20-plus points, and two other players in double-digits in scoring in the game. Hamline drops to 2-1, 1-1 MIAC with the loss. They return to MIAC play on Monday, December 3, when they will host St. Thomas at 7:30 at Hutton Arena. |
