Women's basketball beats St. Olaf in final minute
![]() Trailing 57-54, senior Kelly Lines hit a pair of free throws to cut the lead to one with under a minute left to play. After a Piper defensive stop, senior Laurisa Ewert hit the go-ahead shot to put Hamline (9-10, 6-9 in the MIAC) on top. Lines would add a pair of free throws for the final margin. Ewert led the way for Hamline with her sixth double-double of the season, scoring 14 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Lines added 12 points and five assists Natalie Rigelman scored a game-high 19 points on 8 of 12 shooting. Paige Broman tallied 11 points for the Oles (5-14, 2-12). Hamline took a 31-29 halftime lead after shooting 46 percent in the first half (12-26), but trailed by as many as eight points in the second half before making the comeback. The Pipers held St. Olaf to 38 percent shooting in the contest (22-58). The Oles couldn't cash in from the free throw line, making only 7 of 18 (39 percent). The Pipers will travel to Macalester on Saturday. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. |
