Ewert named MIAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week

Senior forward Laurisa Ewert averaged 19.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 4.0 assists to help the Pipers to a 2-1 record last week, and for her efforts, she was named MIAC Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.

Ewert helped propel the Pipers to the first postseason berth in school history.

She had 14 points and 12 rebounds in Monday's win over Augsburg, her sixth double-double of the season. Ewert had 21 points and six assists in Wednesday's win over St. Mary's and had 15 points and eight rebounds in Saturday's 83-80 loss to first-place St. Benedict.

Ewert is currently eighth in the MIAC in scoring (13.6 ppg) and third in rebounds (8.0 rpg). The Pipers are 12-11 overall and 8-10 in the MIAC.
