First-year Hannah Oken-Berg led the way for Carleton with 21 points as the Knights defeated Hamline in their first postseason game in school history 69-62 Monday night in Northfield, Minn.

Oken-Berg scored 12 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to help the Knights (17-9) hold off the pesky Pipers (13-13). She was 9 of 13 shooting from the floor, 5 of 6 in the final 20 minutes.

After falling behind 37-31 at the half, the Pipers stormed back to take a 52-50 lead with 9:49 left in the game on back-to-back three-pointers by first-year Jessica Heinen and senior Carolyn Korchik.

The lead was short-lived, however, as Carleton answered with a Sarah Kunelius three-pointer on their next possession. Oken-Berg later scored baskets on two straight possessions, and the Knight never trailed after that.

Trailing by 64-62 with 2:09 left in the game, the Pipers had two chances to tie or go ahead, but could not convert.

Hamline was led by junior Kelly Lines, who totaled 14 points. Sophomore Allison Bratsch added 13 points, including 3 of 7 from three. Junior Ashlee Senser finished with 10 points.

The Pipers' two leading scorers on the season - Laurisa Ewert and Carolyn Korchik - were held to six and eight points, repectively.

Both teams shot 40 percent from the floor, but the Knights had six more offensive rebounds and were 16 of 26 from the free throw line. Hamline was 9 of 15 from the charity stripe.
