Shooting woes continue in women's basketball loss

Hamline shot 25 percent from the floor and Carleton went on a 12-1 run to start the second half as the Knight defeated Hamline 66-42 Saturday afternoon in Northfield, Minn.

The Knights (3-2, 1-1 in the MIAC) led 29-21 at the break and expanded the lead to 19 points on the run that lasted 6:42. First-year Hannah Oken-Berg capped the run with a pair of jumpers, giving the Knights a 41-22 lead.

Hamline (1-2, 0-2) had trouble finding their shooting touch throughout the game. After shooting 26 percent in the first half (7-27), the Pipers were 24 percent from the floor (7-29) over the final 20 minutes of play.

Senior Laurisa Ewert led the Pipers with 11 points on 4 of 15 shooting. First-year Jessica Heinen had six points and nine rebounds.

Reserves Sarah Kunelius and Sarah Lincoln each totaled 13 points for the Knights. Lincoln added nine rebounds. Oken-Berg netted 12 points in the game. Carleton shot 46 percent (24-52) in the contest.

Hamline will host St. Thomas Monday night at Hutton Arena. Game time is set for 5:45 p.m.
