Volleyball stumbles at St. Mary's
![]() Hamline (10-5, 4-2 in the MIAC) received 17 kills from senior Dana Luiken. First-year Tasha Simmons had 12 kills and 20 digs while sophomore Amanda Booth and senior Christina Rossetter each added 11. Setter Jenny Nichols dished out 47 assists for the Pipers. The Cardinals (6-10, 2-4) were led by Molli Dant's 21 kills - 15 in the fourth and fifth games of the match. After falling behind 17-13 in game one, the Pipers reeled of nine of 10 points to take the lead for good. The Pipers coasted to a 30-17 win in game two before the Cardinals returned the favor with a 30-19 win in game four. St. Mary's led by as many as six points in game four, but Hamline cut the lead to one on four separate occasions. Dant finished the game with her seventh kills of the stanza. Hamline led 11-10 in game five before the Cardinals scored four straight points. Dant had eight kills in the game. The Pipers will play at the Luther Quad on Saturday. They will play host Luther at 12:00 p.m. and Waldorf at 2:00 p.m. |
