Volleyball beats North Central in four games

Senior Dana Luiken had 16 kills and first-year Tasha Simmons added 12 as the Pipers defeated North Central (Minn.) in four games Tuesday night in Minneapolis, Minn.

After dropping the first game 30-27, the Pipers (3-2) came back to win 30-17, 30-20, 30-18. Luiken hit .393 in the contest, posting 16 kills in just 28 attempts with five errors.

Simmons added 12 kills on 30 attempts. Junior Shelby Hyllengren added nine kills in 23 attempts.

Simmons also led the Pipers with 16 digs. Luiken added 11 blocks (two solo, nine assists) and two service aces.

The Pipers will play at the St. Catherine Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
