Luiken tabbed AVCA All-Central Region honorable mention

Senior middle hitter Dana Luiken was named AVCA All-Central Region honorable mention, the coaches organization announced on Wednesday.

Luiken, from Chatfield, Minn., tallied 350 kills in 90 games this season for the Pipers, who earned their first MIAC Playoff berth since the league moved to a six-team format six years ago.

The senior had a hitting percentage of .324 overall this season. She was third in the MIAC in hitting percentage during conference play at .348. She also added 89 blocks.

Luiken became the sixth player in Hamline volleyball history to amass 1,000 career kills. She finishes her career fourth on the all-time list with 1,169 kills.

Luiken was one of seven players from the MIAC honored by the AVCA.
