Volleyball sweeps Luther Triangular

The Hamline volleyball team won a pair of matches at the Luther Triangular, beating host Luther and Waldorf Saturday afternoon in Decorah, Iowa.

The Pipers improved to 12-5 overall with the two victories.

Hamline defeated Luther 30-26, 24-30, 22-30, 30-27, 15-12 in the first game of the day. Senior Dana Luiken had 18 kills in the contest while Shelby Hyllengren added 13 kills.

Setter Jenny Nichols dished out 33 assists in the game. Senior libero Jenna Witt added 18 digs.

The Pipers went on to defeat Waldorf in four games, 30-27, 25-30, 30-25, 30-17. Luiken again led Hamline will 11 kills and 11 blocks. Hyllengren added 10 for the Pipers.

Hamline will return to conference play when they host Concordia on Tuesday. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
