Women's swimming defeat Augsburg; both teams fall to Tommies![]()
![]() ![]() Against Augsburg, the women's team won 10 of 13 events against the Auggies. Junior Dana Ketcher (1000 free, 200 fly), first-year Renee Punyko (200 free and 500 free) and senior Natalie Netzel (1 and 3-meter dives) all won two individual events for the Pipers. First-year Becky Taylor and junior Katie Yohnk also won events. The Pipers took both relay events in the meet. Against St. Thomas, Hamline won four events, with Netzel repeating in the 1 and 3-meter dives with scores of 238.25 and 226.55, respectively. Katie Palm added a win in the 200-yard breastsroke. The men's team took six of 13 events, but lost a three-point decision to the Tommies. Diver Jake Kruger won both diving events to pace the Pipers. Sophomore Jonathan Tapia won two individual events in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:59.33. He also grabbed the 200-yard butterfly in 1:59.71). He teammed up with Jake Burgess, Patrick Swartzer, and Ryan Beckman to win the 200-yard medley relay. The Pipers will compete at the Minnesota Challenge Invitational at the University of Minnesota. The meet starts Friday at 6:00 p.m. and resumes Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. |
