![]() ![]() The men's team defeated Macalester 158-15 and St. Mary's 141-69 on the night. Piper athletes finished first in 11 of 13 events on the evening. First-year Teddy Paterson and sophomores Jonathan Tapia-Rodriguez and Jake Burgess were all three-time winners on the night. The trio teamed up with Will Khoury-Hanold to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:42.46. Paterson took the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events. He finished the 200 in 1:52.6 and the 500 in 5:15.29. Burgess won the 50-yard freestyle (22.33) and 100-yard butterfly (54:16), and Tapia-Rodriguez placed first in both the 200-yard individual medley (2:04.25) and 100-yard freestyler (50:49). The women's team defeated Augsburg (179-44) and St. Mary's (187-43), but fell to Macalester (130-112). First-year Becky Moenkhaus was a triple winner. She won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.45 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56:35. She teammed with Dana Ketcher, Renee Punyko, and Erinn Moriarty to take the 200-yard freestyle relay. Ketcher added a win in the 200-yard freestyle. Punyko was also a triple winner, adding wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2:20.53) and 100-yard backstroke. Hamline will compete against St. Catherine and Carleton on Friday. Meet time is slated for 6:00 p.m. |
