Swimming and diving compete at St. Catherine![]()
![]() ![]() The Piper women (3-2 in dual meets this season) defeated the Wildcats 78-27, but lost 84-27 to Carleton. The men lost by a narrow 62-51 margin to the Knights. On the women's side, diver Natalie Netzel won in both the 1 and 3-meter dives. She posted a score of 168.9 in the 1-meter dive and a total of 183.65 in the 3-meter. Freestyle sprinter Dana Ketcher won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.72. She also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle. For the men, both Teddy Paterson and Jake Burgess were three-time winners on the evening. Paterson won both distance freestyle events, taking the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:54.39 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:12.0. Burgess on the two sprint freestyle events, taking the 50-yard freestyle (22.29) and 100-yard freestyle (49.27). The duo teammed with Jonathan Tapia-Rodriguez and Ryan Beckman to win the 200-yard freestyle relay. Tapia also won the 200-yard backstroke. The women will compete at Concordia on Saturday.
