Swimming teams finish in seventh at UW-Stevens Point Invitational

Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams finished in seventh place atthe UW-Stevens Point Invitational completed Saturday in Stevens Point, Wis.

The Hamline men finished with 169.5 points. North Dakota took the team competition.

First-year Jonathan Tapia led the way for the Pipers, taking fourth place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 52.34 in the finals. He was the only Pipers athlete to make the 'A' finals on Saturday.

Junior Jake Kruger was seventh in the one-meter dive while teammate Julian Borgia was ninth. Borgia was also eighth in the three-meter dive.

First-year Jake Burgess was 14th in the 50-yard freestyle, finishing in 22.75.

The women finished with 103 points in the meet. North Dakota won the team competition.

Angela Schroeder finished 15th in the 100-yard breaststroke while Dana Ketcher was 11th in the 50-yard freestyle.

In the diving events, sophomore Tami Klenke was 11th in the three-meter dive and 13th in the one-meter dive.
