Swimming teams split with UW-River Falls![]()
![]() ![]() ![]() The Hamline men won 11 of 12 events in the dual meet win. Six different athletes earned individual wins in the meet paced by Jonathan Tapia, Jake Burgess, and Brian Viger who each had two wins for the Pipers. Tapia won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 52.73. He also took the 500-yard freestyle in 5:16.23. Burgess placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (22.40) and 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.61). Viger took both the 200-yard individual medley (2:16.62) and 100-yard backstroke (1:02.05). Ryan Beckman (1000-yard freestyle), John Burgess (100-yard freestyle), and Jake Kruger (1-meter dive) also won events for the Pipers. On the women's side, Hamline won six of 12 events. Sophomore Aly Janzen and senior Linsi Ulstad each won two events. Janzen was first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:05.53) and 100-yard butterfly (1:06.22). Ulstad won both distance events, taking the 500-yard freestyle (5:44.63) and 1000-yard freestyle (11:52.17). Dana Ketcher (50-yard freestyle) and Tami Klenke (1-meter dive) also picked up wins for the Pipers. The Pipers will go on a St. Croix Training Trip from Jan. 3-13. They will compete in the St. Croix Sea Swim on Jan. 8. |
