Women's swimming narrowly defeated by Macalester
Klenke won the 1-meter dive with a score of 171.35. She later took the 3-meter event with a score of 197.8. The Pipers were able to win five of the 13 events in the meet. Sophomore Aly Janzen picked up where she left off last season, winning the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:03.72. Sophomore Dana Ketcher won the 50 freestyle in 26:10 while first-year Angie Schroeder took the 100 breaststroke in 1:15.15. Hamline trailed 113-110 heading into the final event, but the Scots were able to win the 400 freestyle relay to season the meet victory. In exhibition action, the men's team broke two school records. First-year Jake Burgess broke the school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 54.68. He was also a part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished in a time of 1:43.07 to break the school record. The Pipers will next host Concordia next Friday at 6:00 p.m. |
