Softball moves to 5-1 with wins
![]() Hamline moved to 5-1 on the season by earning the sweep. The Pipers defeated UW-Superior 7-4 in the first game of the day and followed with a 9-0 drubbing of Southern Maine. The Pipers used the long ball to plate four runs in the second inning to take the lead against the Yellowjackets. First-year Brenna Healy started the inning with a solo homer - the first of her career. Four batters later, first-year Betsy Kralich hit a three-run bomb for her first career home run. Superior would cut the lead to 5-3 before Hamline put the game away with RBI singles by Jourdan Ulrich and Holly Wiborg. Hamline later easily handled Southern Maine, 9-0 in five innings. The Pipers tallied three in the first inning and never looked back. Leadoff hitter Ulrich was 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Healy added a pair of base hits. Hamline took advantage of six Southern Maine errors in the contest. The Pipers will close out their spring break with games against UW-Whitewater and Union on Saturday. |
