Blue Devils score two in the seventh to sweep softball
![]() The Pipers (21-15-1) held a 1-0 lead after center fielder Jourdan Ulrich singles, stole second, and scored on an error. The stolen base was Ulrich's 30th of the year. That would be the only run of the game until the seventh when first-year Bobbi Harriman homered off Hamline starter Theresa Boleen (13-11) to knot the game at 1-1. Three batters later, Kristy Hoffman hit a two-out, run-scoring double to win the game for the Blue Devils (16-20). Sophie Davidson had two of the Pipers' seven hits in the contest. Boleen allowed two earned runs on six hits. She struck out four and walked two. In game two, the Blue Devils scored five in the first to go on to a 10-2 win in five innings. Jackie Juan went 2-for-2 at the plate with a grand slam in the first inning. Hamline scored two runs in the fifth on an Ulrich RBI bunt and a run-scoring error. Boleen went three innings, allowing eight runs - six earned. She walked five and walked two. The Pipers will compete in the MIAC Playoffs on Friday. Their first game against St. Thomas is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at Bethel.
