Pipers sweep Royals in MIAC action
![]() ![]() Jessalyn Weaver (So., Eagan, Minn.) threw all eight innings for the Pipers, earning the shutout, as she tossed four strikeouts and scattered seven hits amongst the innings. After seven quick innings that saw few baserunners for the Pipers, Kellie Hoen (Jr., Cologne, Minn.) hit a two-out single in the top of the eighth. She then stole second to get into scoring position for when Heidi Larsen (Fy., Andover, Minn.) came to the plate. Larsen's single scored Hoen, and the Pipers held on to the win in the bottom of the inning. In the second game, Hamline jumped on the scoreboard early and racked up all nine runs in the first three innings, bringing the game to a five-inning, 9-1 win. Sophie Davidson (So., St. Paul, Minn.) went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI, falling just short of hitting for the cycle with a single, double and a triple, in addition to drawing a walk. Kelsey Tacheny (Fy., St. Paul, Minn.) picked up her fifth win in seven days, improving her record to 6-2 while scattering four hits and three strikeouts amongst the five innings.
