The Pipers scored two goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half to erase a 2-1 deficit and come away with a 3-2 victory over St. Mary's in their MIAC opener Wednesday afternoon in Winona, Minn.

The game started with fireworks as the team's traded goal in the first three minutes. At the :56 mark, Todd Stachura gave the Cardinals (3-3, 0-1) a 1-0 lead.

The Pipers knotted the score at 2:52 on a Matt Warhol goal. Junior Jason Engedal assisted on Hamline's first two goals of the contest.
