Honors keep coming for Helling
Helling was a second team selection after leading the Pipers with 14 goals and four assists for 32 points. It was the second time he was named to an NSCAA/adidas All-Region team. He earned third team honors in 2005. The senior from Brookings, S.D. was named MIAC Most Valuable Player and All-MIAC first team after leading the league in scoring with seven goals and one assist in conference play. Helling was named D3kicks.com All-West Region second team last week. He also earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America third team accolades. He led the Pipers to their second consecutive MIAC Playoff appearance, where they advanced to the MIAC Championship game. Hamline finished the season with a record of 12-5-2, 5-3-2 in the MIAC. |
