Unbeaten streak ends for men's soccerThe Saints (7-4) scored the only goal of the game at the 79:22 mark of the second half on a Nick Lister goal. He was assisted on the play by Scott Hunter. The Pipers (8-1-1) entered the contest ranked seventh in the West Region. The loss snapped the Pipers nine-game unbeaten the streak - the longest unbeaten streak to open a season in school history. Hamline dominated play holding a 16-9 advantage in shots for the game and 9-7 edge in shots on goal. The also attempted eight corner kicks in the game to the Saints’ one. Hamline goalkeeper Ryan Fahey made six saves in the loss. Adam Whitehead stopped all nine shots for the Saints. The Pipers will return to MIAC play when they host Carleton Saturday afternoon at Pat Paterson Fields. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. |
