Men's soccer enters conference playoffs on high note![]()
![]() Helling scored his 13th and 14th goals of the season in a span of 5:08 early in the first half to give the Pipers (11-4-2) the victory. He scored at 14:53 and 20:01 with assists from first-year Edi Buro on both goals. The senior finished the regular season with 14 goals and three assists for 31 points - seven more than the closest MIAC player. Hamline held a 14-5 advantage in shots against the Crusaders (6-14). The Piper defense limited Clarke to just one shot on goal. First-year Ryan Fahey picked up the shut out win, making one save. Nicolas Marlette took the loss for Clarke, allowing both goals in 45 minutes of work. The Pipers will play at top-seeded St. John's in the MIAC Semifinals Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Hamline earned their second consecutive playoff berth under head coach Andy Coutts. |
